Where Are You Christmas?!

....why can't I find you?

I have 2 more exams (of course on our last day of exams). And then it's to the mountains for a fun weekend with the roommates and finally, home! CAN'T WAIT.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

So, this whole thing kind of went out the window there for awhile, but I'm going to get back on track! It's been a busy semester. I'm interning with the athletic ticket office, working at a job on campus, sorority, and not to mention school work.

But next week is Thanksgiving! so excited. And after that, two weeks of exams and then home for Christmas. Which really will be a break...Thanksgiving is just a tease.

Good thing it really IS the most wonderful time of the year! The (exciting) end of football season and the much anticipated beginning of basketball season! YAY! I love this place.

The Last Lecture

I'm sure most people have heard about this by now, but I finally watched Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture" on YouTube. For those of you who don't know, Randy Pausch was a professor of Computer Science at Carnegie-Mellon but he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. "The Last Lecture" is a series Carnegie-Mellon was doing, but in this case it truly was Randy Pausch's last lecture. The title of the lecture is "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," and far from being depressing or sad, he is charming, witty, and funny throughout the entire thing. It's long (over an hour) but if you have some time, definitely watch it! He died last week, and it's amazing how this man has touched so many people with his words. It definitely makes you reevaluate some of your own life goals as well!

just wishing and hoping

I hate to wish my life away...but there's so many things to look forward to!

I can't wait for:

  • EVERYONE to be back at school
  • football season!
  • rush
  • basketball season!
  • birthdays
  • halloween, lots of time to think of something awesome
In the meantime, I had the luckiest night ever! James Taylor was playing for a wedding rehearsal (pretty awesome wedding right?!) in a backyard. The house is so massive it went from one street to the one behind it...so we were able to sit on the roof of a friend's house and enjoy the whole concert! To top it off, he saw us sitting up there and acknowledged us, maybe a little embarassing, and then the couple told the caterers to bring us some of the leftover food. I'm sure everyone there was looking at us reminiscing on their poor college student days...hey, we weren't complaining.

brand spankin' new

I decided I want to try out this whole blogging craze! I'm not sure how interesting other people will find me...but it's worth a shot, right? And I do love reading about other people, so I'm thinking that at least puts me off to a good start.

First things first, I'm 20 years old (ohhh 21, how close you are) and a junior in college. I'm also in a sorority, and I was born and raised in a small-town Southern town. I'm an avid sports fan (especially ACC sports), people person, and hopefully a good daughter/sister/friend.

Right now I'm living with 3 guys, which is an adventure in itself. I feel like Snow White must have when she had to pick up after the Seven Dwarves. To completely turn my life upside down, in two weeks I'm moving into the sorority house to share ONE bedroom with 4 girls!!! I'm not sure how I'm feeling about that...partly excited to be able to decorate and live in a (mostly) clean environment, the other part of me is dreading not having any personal time or space! Either way, I'm looking forward to it being a "character building" experience. Lord help me.
